In-lawism's

In-lawism’s \ˈin-ˌlȯ i-zəm\ : a word or phrase your in-law says that lets you know something really inappropriate is about to be said or done - usually in public.

I don’t mean any harm by it but ….

...are you sure that dress isn’t too small?

...don't you think you have enough children?

...can you afford those shoes?

...if you need to coupon, you need a better job.

...is that hair color really you?

...isn't that too much make-up for the day time?

...don't you think you've had enough to eat?

...my daughter has really changed since she married you.

...shouldn't you get a job a little more fitting with our family?

...is that really what you are serving for dinner?

...that can't possibly be baby weight.

...a mother always wants better for her daughter.

...my son was more thoughtful before he got married.
