Feng Shui For In-laws

I first discovered Feng Shui in the 1990’s. I use it to improve the many aspects of my life: professionally and personally.  I am not alone. This concept of balancing the energy of your life is very popular across the world.  I will briefly explain how to apply it to your relationships.

Identify The Problem:
Are your in-laws the main source of the negativity in your marriage?  Are they the obstacle in the road to positive energy in your relationship with your husband or wife? Your first step is to determine which of your in-laws is the culprit. Is it your MIL, FIL or both?  Are you the other woman in the eyes of your MIL or the best friend thief to your FIL? Or are both joined at the hip in destroying your relationship? This should be fairly easy to determine. The thought of spending time with this person probably drains your energy, you may feel so stressed that relationships with others are strained.  You may also feel disappointed in yourself for not being to bond with this person the way you feel you should.
Clear The Emotional And Mental Problems:
You’re second step is to locate the Southwest area of your home, this area effects your Relationships, Love and Marriage. Start by removing the physical clutter in this section – yes, clean! Ever notice how good you feel once you’ve wrapped up cleaning a room? Imagine how good your relationship will “feel” once you’ve cleaned up that area. Go ahead and get rid of that gift you never liked, that broken tennis racket or that lamp that just never worked in that corner. To improve relationships with your in-laws or your spouse, place metal wind chimes in this area. Introduce a bright light in this section of your home.
The third and fourth steps are meant to improve both your relationship with your in-laws and your spouse. They take place in your bedroom.  Identify the best direction your bed should face while you are sleeping. This is done by determining your Kua Number. Use this number to figure out the best Feng Shui Direction. I found an easy to understand chart here Find Out Your Lucky Feng Shui Directions written by Rodika Tchi. Or simply place your bed at the furthest point from the door. In this way you avoid being ambushed by life’s many surprises. Next place objects meant to enhance relationships.  Place pictures or paintings of a happy couple to improve your marriage.  You should only have things meant for slept in your room – bed, clothes, etc. For example, try not to keep in book collection in your room. Reading should be done elsewhere in your home.  Don’t keep a pile of dirty laundry in your bedroom either. This can create disorder in your life. The more in harmony you are with your spouse the more support you will receive in dealing with in-law drama. It is also recommended that you place a crystal - typically a ball – in this area. Some believe it gives out energy, some believe it absorbs the negative energy.
The last step in to maintain a good sense of humor.  Followers of Feng Shui maintain that it reduces negativity and enhances positive energy in a relationship.  Who hasn’t relieved a moment of tension with a good joke or a smile?  Try these steps out and see if you can bring a bright light to your relationships.
